C-Space Ballina
Community Guidelines

The C-Space Ballina Community Guidelines define acceptable interactions between individuals using the space and their use of the facilities and Premises of C-SPACE BALLINA.

1.1 Community Guidelines

All Members and Users agree to comply with C-SPACE BALLINA Community Guidelines at all times while within the Premises at 1 Hogan Street, Ballina NSW 2478 or within any digital interaction with C-SPACE BALLINA, Members or other Users.

1.2 Respect & Professionalism

C-SPACE BALLINA is a workplace built on mutual respect, trust, and good energy. We welcome people from all walks of life and expect everyone to treat others with kindness, care, and consideration. Our intent is to create a comfortable location for individual and collaborative working arrangements with excellent value.
Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Harassment, discrimination, and bullying will not be tolerated.

  • No aggressive or disruptive behaviour. This includes language, tone or actions that make others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

  • Professional doesn't mean stuffy. We're casual, fun and friendly, but always with respect.

  • Use headphones when listening to music, video or participating in a conference call. Please avoid the use of speakerphone.

  • Please keep noise levels down and ensure that you are not disturbing others.

We’re here to build a community, not just a workplace. Anyone who behaves in a way that undermines that will be asked to leave and may have their membership or access revoked.

1.3 Cleanliness

Part of our efforts to keep C-SPACE BALLINA affordable and welcoming relies on all Members and Users to help maintain a clean and inviting environment. Please tidy up after yourself and take care of shared areas so we can all enjoy the space without the added cost of professional cleaners. If you notice something that needs immediate attention, or if supplies need restocking, please let our staff know immediately. This is your workplace and everyone else’s, also. Please keep it looking and feeling good.

  • Tidy desk, tidy mind. Please clean up after yourself at your desk and in shared spaces.

  • Kitchen etiquette does apply. Wash your dishes and place in the drying rack, when dry place in the cupboards. Please clean up spills, and don't leave abandoned items in the fridge.

  • Meeting rooms and shared spaces should be left how you found them or improved.

  • Rubbish Bin - Please clean rubbish prior to placing it in the bin, it only goes out once per week and cannot handle food waste.

  • Recycling - Please clean recycling containers prior to placing in the recycling bin – dirty items cannot be recycled in our location.

  • Any food waste can be stored in a green bag in the freezer and placed into the rubbish on the day when taken out (weekly).

  • Toilet etiquette does apply. Please leave the toilet clean and welcoming for the next user and please put the seat down.

1.4 Premises, Equipment and Furniture

All users have a responsibility to take care of shared equipment and furniture. Please don’t install or alter anything without permission. Please use coasters on the meeting room table to avoid water marks from cold beverages. If you move furniture around for your particular needs, please ensure that the furniture is returned to its normal location when finished. Please conserve electricity, water and shared resources when possible and do not leave the air conditioning running when no one is present.

1.5 Dedicated Spaces

To ensure everyone enjoys the work-space they have chosen, private offices and dedicated desks are reserved exclusively for the Members who have booked them. We kindly ask all Users to access only the spaces which they have booked and respect these dedicated spaces. Please do not move furniture or equipment from these spaces without prior authorisation from the Member or C-SPACE BALLINA staff.

1.6 Security and Access

Members will be given a personalized code for the door which is programmed to their level of membership. Users may have codes assigned as needed. Please inquire with an unknown user accessing the space, and refer them to call staff if needed. Do not enter private offices or restricted areas without the consent of the relevant Member or staff. Please ensure that the front door is locked when you leave the building, even if other Members or Private Offices are in attendance at the time. The front door can be locked by long –pressing the Checkmark button at the lower right side of the keypad without use of an access code.

1.7 Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms must be booked in advance by emailing your requirements to staff. Minimum booking time of 30 minutes and maximum of 9 hours can be reserved in half-hourly increments for Members or hourly increments for non-members. Please do not remove any items including markers, power strips, cables or chairs from the room. Please ensure that the air conditioning is switched off when you are finished with the room.

1.8 Vehicles and Parking

Please use either our limited off street parking or street parking only. The parking area between the neighbouring building and ours belongs to the other building. If parked in these locations you will be asked to move your vehicle. Please do not continue running your vehicle’s engine while parked in the off street parking area at the front of the building as the exhaust enters the lower level of the building.

1.9 Visitors / Guests

Members are welcome to bring visitors and guests, but you are completely responsible for them. That includes any damage, theft, or injury they may cause while in the space. You must ensure that they are aware of and abide by these Community Guidelines.

1.10 Children

People under the age of 16 are welcome in the workspace but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times and never left alone. It is up to the Member or User to ensure that the young person complies with these Community Guidelines.

1.11 Pets

Members and Users are welcome to bring their pets into the premises, as long as their pet does not disturb other Members or Users – if in doubt, please ask the others. The pet shall not interfere with the comfort, safety, or enjoyment of other Members, Users, staff, guests or visitors. Pets are not to be left unattended in any portion of the space, and may only be in meeting rooms when the Member or User who is responsible for that pet is in attendance.

1.12 Internet Usage

Members are expected to use the shared internet responsibly. Please avoid streaming, large uploads/downloads or other bandwidth-heavy activities during peak periods unless necessary for work purposes. Abuse of the network that results in performance issues for others may result in restricted access.

1.13 Damages & Responsibility

Members and Users are responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their guests, their visitors, children or pets under their supervision. C-SPACE BALLINA may invoice the member for payment to recover the cost of damage at any time without prior notice.
